Emulsified Coffee & Sugar Scrub
Emulsified Coffee & Sugar Scrub
Ingredients: Cane sugar, granulated coffee, cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter, olive oil, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, avocado oil, beeswax, emulsifying wax, stearic acid, Optiphen (broad spectrum preservative), fragrance oil (phthalate free).
Cocoa Butter: has fatty acid content, it deeply hydrates the skin and it prevents the skin from drying and peeling. It also nourishes the skin due to the oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids in its composition, all known for preventing dry skin
Shea Butter: is a natural vegetable fat that aids in anti-aging, moisturizes (linoleic acid), anti-inflammatory, can soften scar tissue, antibacterial properties.
Mango butter is used for hydration and soothes irritation. It is rich in fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins E, D, and A.
Olive oil is very high in oleic acid, and contributes to making the soap gentle and nourishing to the skin.
Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties which help to tame chaffing and chapping, reduce redness caused by drying, ease the effects of eczema and rosacea, and keep skin calm and comfortable. The Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins in the Jojoba Oil help in skin repair and damage control.
Hemp Seed Oil & Butter: One of the main benefits of hemp seed oil is its ability to soothe and heal tired, stressed-out skin. Hemp seed oil decreases inflammation and irritation and provides relief for discomfort as it promotes the growth of new healthy skin cells. It rejuvenates and nourishes tight or dry skin and prevents flakiness and itchiness. Hemp seed oil restores the skin barrier and helps it to retain moisture, which results in skin that looks healthy, hydrated, and supple. It is high in antioxidants A,C,E, and F, and fatty acids- responsible for strengthening the outer layer of skin. Hemp seed oil repairs the skin barrier and protects against environmental aggressors that damage the skin and cause premature aging, such as sunlight.
Avocado oil aids in calming itchy skin, heals chapped skin, replenishes dry skin, hydrates, moisturizes, shields from UV radiation, and protects against skin damage.
HOW TO USE:
Cleanse: Start with clean skin. For your body, you can wash with a body cleanser and lukewarm water. You can also use a body soap to remove dirt, oils, and dead skin before applying the scrub
Apply: Put a small amount of scrub in the center of your palm. You can use your hand or an exfoliating glove to gently massage the scrub into your skin in circular motions for about one to two minutes. Use light to moderate pressure, and spend more time on areas that are rough or dry, like your elbows, knees, and heels. You can spend less time on areas that are naturally smooth or thinner, like your upper chest or the undersides of your arms.
Rinse: Rinse the scrub away with lukewarm water until your skin is clean and smooth.
Dry: Pat your skin almost completely dry with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing your skin with the towel, as this can irritate it.
Moisturize: Apply moisturizer to your skin. You can use sugar scrubs 2–3 times a week, as daily exfoliating can dry out your skin.
